Sneak Peek: JULY FAMILY LOVES - OUT THIS WEEK
The number eight has a lot of significance… Now that Pluto has been relegated to dwarf planet, our solar system has eight planets. Eight is the atomic number of oxygen, without which we can not live. Damir Dokic could spend up to eight years in jail after posing threats and dabbling in bomb making. And most importantly, eight is the number of years Family has been bringing you the crème-de-la-crème in clubbing and dance music.
To celebrate Family’s eighth birthday, Family Loves has strung together some lukewarm ideas and turned them into out-of-this-world reading.
Now that the temperature has dropped like it’s not hot, we give you the know-how on how to look good in leather.
Have you ever wonder how history would read if it was confined to Twitter’s 140 word limit? Loves did the math.
Hipsterdom has become so passé. We take our readers through what it meant to be a hipster and what has become now – R.I.P Hipster.
Etiquette is always atop of our agenda, so this month we drive lessons in things you shouldn’t say.
And to cap it off Paddo Antiques gets a shout out, alongside some our favourite smutty subjects.
As we launch into our eighth year, we’d like to invite you to the celebration of all celebrations – a weekend long throwdown of crazy party-party fun, featuring Lee Haslam, tyDi, Club Junk, Aston Shuffle and Paulini. Just cause it’s our birthday doesn’t mean we are putting the brakes on the rest of the month. Friday sees Amber, XDream, Trance Nation Feat tyDi thump Family, while Saturday bumps the likes of Vicious Sound System, Bass Kleph and Hook and Sling. Find all this plus more in June Family Loves.

Video of the Week - The Wackness
In the midst of the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend we took some downtime from the party party to veg out with a DVD. Maybe it's our satirical look on life or our damn-the-man attitude, but for some reason Art House always seems to find its way to our hands.
This time it was a film called The Wackness... and we were blown away.
Set against a 1994 NYC backdrop, The Wackness tells the story of Luke Shapiro, a recent high school graduate, who sells pot out of an ice cream pushcart to survive the boredom of summer in the city.

Biggie is just breaking through, Cobain has just suicided, white-boys are throwing dope chat, Giuliani is pushing for a whitewash and cassettes are cool.
Starring Josh Peck (Nickelodeon's Drake + Josh), Method Man, Ben Kingsley and Mary Kate Olsen The Wackness is a great way to escape the 2000s and get but to the simplicity of the 90s.

A Date to Remember - 20th Anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Protests
Today marks the 20th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Protests, which saw hundreds - if not thousands - of people killed in China's crackdown on pro-democracy protests.
"June 4 was a time when a group of people sacrificed their lives for democracy. We need to remember their efforts," said demonstrator Steve Chan.

Oh, You've Been Snapped - Laidback Luke 30.05.09
His name was Luke. He wasn't like any other Luke we'd ever met. He played good music and smiled for our camera. He told us not to bother moving to the Netherlands - there are no jobs there. The night was anything but Laidback.

The SHIT - Ruby Rose's Lesbian Kisses
Just when we think things are quitening down, we can always rely of MTV VJ Ruby Rose to spice things up!
BARELY a month ago she was seen kissing up-and-coming catwalker Myf Shepherd, now lipstick lesbian Ruby Rose has moved on and up to another hot Aussie supermodel. Recently returning from a three-week working holiday in the US, the gorgeous DJ was snapped in a serious lip lock with one of the most lauded models in the world right now - perennial covergirl and long-term mate Catherine McNeil.
The Aussie pair were caught pashing at LA celebrity hotspot the Roosevelt Hotel on May 23 by a Tito Media photographer and the extensive series of shots are set to appear in a women's magazine today.
McNeil and Rose have known Rose each other since they competed in the Girlfriend Model Search together in 2002 - which McNeil won.
While Rose, 23, is openly gay, the 20-year-old has not gone on the record with her sexuality but is rumoured to have dated alternative Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen.
